Future-oriented parking space sharing with Book-n-Park
Darmstadt, August 22, 2023 – TU Darmstadt at Lichtwiese to the public. The university can now make parking spaces available , provided it is not currently using them. Another highlight: For the first time in a Darmstadt parking garage, users can reserve and pay for their parking space online and unlock the entrance using their smartphone. This is made possible by Book-n-Park, the digital parking management system from the Darmstadt-based company Green Mobility Solutions (GMS). In parking space sharing will benefit providers, drivers, and the environment.
Wie die TU Darmstadt ankündigt, entfallen öffentlich genutzte Parkplätze am Straßenrand auf dem TUD-Campus Lichtwiese aufgrund umfangreicher Renaturierungsmaßnahmen. Daher steht seit Mitte Juli das TUD-Parkhaus in der Eugen-Kogon-Straße für alle offen. Anwohner, Studenten und Besucher profitieren von der Öffnung des Parkhauses und zahlen pro Tag 2,50 €. Zusätzlich zum Kassenautomaten lässt sich das Parkhaus jetzt auch online über Book-n-Park reservieren, bezahlen und mit dem eigenen Smartphone öffnen. Diese Refinanzierung kommt wiederum der TU Darmstadt zu gute, so dass eine echte WIn/WIn-SItuation entsteht.
Effiziente Mehrfachnutzung und Verwaltung von vorhandenem Parkraum
Whether it's company, school, or government parking lots: In many places, sought-after parking spaces are regularly vacant. The trend toward working from home and holiday periods exacerbate the fluctuating demand and capacity. "We believe that sharing existing parking spaces in areas with high parking demand is a forward-looking solution – for both parking space providers and users," says Torsten Uhlig, Managing Director of Green Mobility Solutions GmbH. "Parking space is used more efficiently, which in turn reduces the search for parking and, in the long term, benefits the environment."
Parking operators can define prices and available booking periods themselves via the Book-n-Park dashboard. In addition to the ability to digitally control barriers, gates, lockers, and bicycle boxes, parking barriers secure online reservation and reserving of individual parking spaces or charging stations for electric cars

Und so funktioniert es: auf der Buchungsplattform app.book-n-park.de unter „Login“ kostenfrei einen Account erstellen und die persönliche E-Mail-Adresse hinterlegen. Dann Standort und Buchungszeit wählen und via Zahlungsdienst PayPal zahlen. An die Mailadresse kommt sofort ein Link, mit dem sich das Parkhaus im gebuchten Zeitraum mit dem eigenen Smartphone digital öffnen lässt. Zusätzliche Reservierungskosten fallen nicht an. Der Clou: Der nahe gelegene Zoo Vivarium kämpfte bis vor kurzem mit Parkplatzproblemen – besonders am Wochenende. Diese Probleme sind Vergangenheit, der Zoo weist jetzt bereits auf seiner Homepage auf das zusätzliche Parkangebot hin!
